Dr. Yvonne Harris, 

Vice Provost for Research and Scholarship, James Madison University.  Dr. Harris provides leadership over the Offices of Sponsored Programs, Technology Innovation, Research Integrity and Research Development and Promotion, in addition to five research and outreach centers addressing security and energy issues.

 

Dr. Patrice Preston Grimes is Associate Dean in Office of African-American Affairs (OAAA) and an Associate Professor in the Curry School of Education at University of Virginia. At OAAA, her responsibilities include coordinating the Faculty-Student Mentoring Program and implementing the GRAD-STAR Program to promote students' academic excellence and leadership development. She recieved the University of Virginia's EOP Champion Award recognizing her commitment to the advancement of equal rights and social justice at the University.

 

Dr. Kimberly S. Smith joined Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University serving as Director of Undergraduate Advising and University Studies. Her responsibilities involve directing the University Studies department and providing leadership/ coordination for university-wide programs and initiatives related to enhancing academic advising. Dr. Smith received the Region 2 Outstanding Advising Award from the National Academic Advising Association.

 

Cierra Davis is a licensed therapist and has experience with individual and group substance abuse counseling, college student issues and child/adolescent behavior management. She has provided counseling in juvenile detention, outpatient, school and home environments. She is a first-year student in the Ph.D. in Counseling and Supervision Program at James Madison University.

 

Tiffanie Sutherlin serves as a graduate assistant in the JMU Centennial Scholars Program working as a mentor and advisor to students from underserved backgrounds. She is a first-year doctoral student in JMU’s Counseling and Supervision Program and is a Nationally Certified Counselor.

 

Dr. Angela R. Lewis is the Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Programs, Curricula and Service at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) and a professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.  Dr. Angela Radford Lewis is a 2016-2017 ACE Fellow at James Madison University.  The American Council on Education (ACE) Fellows Program is designed to strengthen institutions and leadership in American higher education by identifying and preparing faculty and staff for senior positions in college and university administration. 

 

Jen Fry is Program Coordinator for Domestic Merit Scholarships at Duke University allows her to work with college-aged students as well as follow her passion of race, equality, and LGBT rights.  She has 15 years of collegiate coaching experience.

 

Karen Davis, is an Assistant Professor at Radford University in Communication Sciences and Disorders.  Her research interests are centered in the domain of language and literacy for struggling learners. 

 

Dr. Deneen Evans currently serves as an Assistant Professor and MSW Program Coordinator in the School of Social Work at Radford University in Radford Virginia.  She also serves as the Co-Chair of the University’s Diversity and Equity Committee.  Her research areas include disability, social equity, and health equity.
