The Student Poster session is designed to promote scholarship and professional development. We are accepting abstracts from undergraduate & graduate students for individual or group creative or analytical presentations. Projects should speak to the theme of the conference and highlight the location and/or contributions of Africana women in the academy. Posters should be by or about Africana women. Proposals are welcome from across the disciplines and student services areas.
Posters may be set up at the start of the conference day but presenters must be at the poster session to be held during the lunch break where they will engage conference attendants as well as judges, who will be representatives of the conference planning committee. Acknowledgements will be delivered at the end of the conference day.
Please send a 250-300 word abstract to brysonbj@jmu.edu with title, presenters' names and addresses/institutional affiliations. Titles should be no more than twelve words.
Abstracts are due September 30, 2016.
Note: Student poster session title honors Dr. Sheary Johonson, JMU's first African American female graduate.
